Jeroen Uytterschaut is the EU Representative and Executive Director at the World Vision’s Brussels office. 

Leading the Brussels team, Jeroen connects the work of the international World Vision partnership in external aid related to humanitarian, development and advocacy efforts with EU institutions and policies.

He has almost 30 years’ experience working in international political affairs, with a special interest in crisis prevention and management. 

In addition to holding senior management and advisor positions at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Balkanactie in Belgium and the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Jeroen has worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the European Commission Directorate-General Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and the Red Cross EU office in Brussels. He has completed long term assignments in Rwanda, Sudan, former Yugoslavia, the South Caucasus, the Russian Federation, Sri Lanka and North Korea.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Antwerp, a Master’s degree in International Political Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and a special diploma in International Cooperation from the Université libre de Bruxelles. In addition to his native Dutch, he speaks English, French, German, and Russian.
